LUED got a reaction from danthedriver in is it worth to move from X to Exec
Don't buy an Exec car just to upgrade, as you still have to do X and Pool jobs. Probably only 1 in 10 jobs will be an Exec job.
Also don't buy a Lux car specifically for Uber unless you already have your own clients, and you just use Uber in your downtime to make a little extra beer money when you wouldn't have been doing anything anyway.

I agree, but then again being employed you have a certainty you are going to get the same amount of money every month and you can make plans

Good post, you often forget that working in any office/retail, PAYE job, there are commuting costs and times to consier as well, compared to PH/Uber. How does a say, Zone 1-3 travelcard cost these days?
When I look at my end of year accounts, the profit I make - the amount I pay tax on, doesn't seem at all bad, considering that every motoring expense is covered, including the monthly lease cost of my car.

I keep hearing people complaining about Uber but in the same time everybody is waiting for car upgrade, class upgrade, everyone has plans....people queuing to be be on uber platform.
    - Do you think if your work in the office  from 9 to 5 Monday to Friday is it going to be better????
To be at 9am at work you heave to leave the house by 8, wake up by 7.
Leave work at 5, getting home by 7pm......so in total 12 hours of your time x5 days = 60 hours for an average £2000/month if you are lucky ( do you think you can afford to pay for your car, diesel and insurance from those £2000???? )
Ok, you have social life after 7pm and in weekends some will say but you can have that with uber as well if your efficient.

    - Working for uber 60 hours a week, will generate you £1000 week that is £4000/month, and you can have social life if you are not greedy.....

Working or not for UBer , you still need a car, insurance, fuel...at least Uber will pay for it, be grateful in life

You should try the odour at rush-time in the bus or underground, next when you press the AC button inside your car think about.....
STOP COMPLAINING, dont like it then change it but You like it

Before continuing, I would definitely check if you'll be accepted for a lease, and ensure you are able to use the car for hire and reward, as some leasing contracts may not allow you to do so. You also need to ensure you have the V5 document, in case it's required when you have the car licensed as a private hire vehicle by your local authority. As for insurance, make sure you get quotes first, and that you'll definitely be covered on a lease car, since you won't be the owner of the car (the finance company is), though you may be the registered keeper.
Another thing about leasing, is that the initial payment may be 3, 6, or 9 times the amount of the monthly cost (i.e. £1350, £2700 or £4050), make sure you can meet this cost in the first month. Being self-employed and new, the first payment is not likely to be 3 months, worth, but 6 or 9 times.

Don't have to pay congestion charge if you're car is licenced with TfL as a private hire vehicle and you're on a booking.

No to bus/taxi lanes during their hours of operation.

Ask the passenger if they have a preferred route. If you think the route is not the most efficient, but they insist that you drive them that way, e-mail Uber immediately after the trip ends, saying that was the route the customer chose, to prevent the customer later claiming that you took an inefficient route.

My car is leased due to other PH work I've got.
A new car every three years - you'll always have the latest model, especially in terms of fuel efficiency and legislation. Anything goes wrong is fixed under warranty (which is unlikely anyway on a new car) I can negotiate higher fares from potential customers/other companies due to a new car. Maintenance costs are kept to a minimum, usually associated with higher mileage cars. No wear and tear items need replacing during the first few months of ownership (main ones being tyres and brakes).  Simply hand the car back at the end of the term - no need to deal with the hassle of trying to sell it. Tax efficient - the entire cost, can be offset against your earnings for income tax.  You'll have to replace your car every few years anyway (due to wear and tear, and/or ongoing legislation), so may as well get a new one every time.

Good points - flexibility to work when you like, no set shifts, usually required by traiditional minicab firms. Log on and off as you please.
work where you like - local area, which you know best, central London where the earnings are potentially the highest, or airports with the chance of getting a good run into London, though there is a wait in the queue of a few hours, and the risk of getting a local job.
pay is usually prompt, and cashless - less of a security risk carrying cash around. All trips are recorded, and is transparent, you know exactly how much you earn on each trip.
opportunity to earn more during surges.
fair distribution of jobs, with the job going to the nearest available driver (though this is in doubt).
Bad points - communication with the office is via e-mail. There is no one to talk to as there is no phone number to talk to someone if there is a problem.
rating system, could lead you to deactivation if your rating becomes too low - controversial whether this is a fair system or not.
more drivers are joining than leaving

No NO NO, as long i am there in the estimated time zone and the customer is not arriving in 5 minutes my job is done. NO SHOW and move on, no customer worth waiting more than 5 minutes....ah ok, if the customer is calling me and say i am sorry will be down in 5 minutes, then is a different situation! ( very rarely happening )

Just change the currency, is the same if you make £4000/month , your profit will be around £1700 for a full time job, more than 40hours/week plus stress

Off on a one week cruise to Norway (to see the fjords) during the second week of July.
My client has a two week holiday, so decided to make the most of it, while he's away.
Maybe going to Dusseldorf, during the August Bank Holiday as well.

No , is not dead. You can check for yourself, plenty of surge , for 60 hours/week you can earn after uber commission around £1,500 and drive way more less than X.
