I can see on different FB groups they are recruiting already drivers in London, same prices as Uber but with 15% commission, the ap is basically a clone of Uber the main difference is for the customer being able to pay cash as well.
I am curious if these guys will have the same growth as the others like wheely and cabbie....although those had the same commission as Uber.
    Any insight information ??

2019 or 2020 for all diesel cars older than 4 years even if you are PHV
From 8 April 2019, the most polluting cars, vans and motorbikes will have to pay £12.50 to drive through central London, while buses, coaches and HGVs will pay £100.
London's ultra low emission zone (ULEZ):
Covers the same area as the existing congestion zone and will be in addition to the congestion charge Applies to petrol vehicles that do not meet Euro 4 standards and diesel vehicles that do not meet Euro 6 standards Will apply 24 hours a day, 365 days a year Will not apply to residents living in the zone until April 2022 Black taxis are exempt-but not PHV Replaces the £10 T-Charge which will apply for older cars entering the capital from October

    Uber are selling a dream.
I got a letter from my bank saying I'm pre-approved for a £35,000 loan, with monthly repayments of £686.41, payable over 5 years.
With promises of making £1200 a week, no wonder there are those spending those amounts on cars, thinking the loan could easily be paid back..

Moving from X to Exec in such a short time made this category not so professional, is not enough to have a cool car if you dont know where is Marble Arch, although Exec is best option for money efficiency from customers point of view, is not that expensive

I dont think will be a smart move, things are already very very sensible among drivers
increase supply and demand will follow but what uber did not kept is the standards...you can get a nice car as a customer but will be a lottery with the driver which can ask you for the post code when you say take me to park lane
    just my opinion

I have friends from Gravesend, they work in London without a problem, using A2 is pretty fast.
Apply in London for PCO licence and that it. topographical test and English test are mandatory !!!! it makes sense right? as you need to know where are you going and be able to understand the customers is not like transporting goods....he can apply for van courier delivery driver job for the beginning to accommodate with the city, Amazon is hiring non stop....

Mine is residential, as well as being a "small" operator's licence, which is likely easier to get.
I'm not sure on the rules surrounding the different uses of the premises, and how long it had to be for.
Because of the nature of the work I do, I was exempt from planning permission, but as mentioned, I got written confirmation of this, which was sent to TfL, when I renewed.

£12 an hour in Manchester is optimistic. More like £10 per hour takings after Uber deduct their 25%. Leeds will be very similar.
If you hire a car that Uber recommends, then 40 hours x £10 = £400.
    - £180 car rental
    - £50 fuel
    - £20 other costs
    = Take home £150
For some reason, potential new drivers do not believe these figures. But it is a reality.
People do not believe a driver can earn so little. They underestimate how bad the job market is for unskilled, low skilled, and even skilled people. How people are desperate to take any work available.
Uber and other companies are fully exploiting the situation.

You can also accept X work in your Exec car. Go into the Account tab on your app, and you can change your vehicle.

You should have two vehicles, one with the reg. no. in lower case, and the other in upper case. To choose X and Exec work as well, it's usually the lower case one.

When I applied for mine, it only took a two or three months.

However, that was seven years ago, and the regulations have tightened up since then, one of them is that you know have to obtain planning permission from your local council (or obtain, an exemption), proof of which has to be sent to TfL as part of your application.

george got a reaction from Johny in How much profit do you make?
I think the profit is dropping, as we have to stay longer on the roads. Stay longer you consume more, more coffees, more junk food, more cigarettes....:(   I think is somewhere around %35 now i may say.... so if you make £1000/week deduct:
    - car £100
    -insurance £60
    -fuel £100
-food and water and cigarettes £100
    -car depreciation £50
    -uber commission £250

    TOtal= £650
    profit = £350

Guys now i understand why i don't catch big jobs any more:
I was on Queens gate for 1h in the morning and i could see loads of cars disappearing around me, at one moment i was the only one in Chelsea, then i opened the client app to see if i can receive jobs, i put the pin exactly where i was and guess what:
AS a destination I put Terminal 2 Heathrow and all the jobs went to drivers far away from me, they were receiving the job request and then when i typed a different destination (£10 job) like Sloane square i got the job, what a joke !!!
    Check the print-screens:

ps: I know people will say, oh wait those guys they had the destination set to Heathrow but i was having the same and it never worked for me anyway ....
