LUED reacted to george in No more greedy drivers, soon 10 hours maximum driving time or 60 hours week in London
I agree, but still I approve this decision, maybe we will get rid of all those guys driving with 10mph because they are too tired

LUED got a reaction from george in No more greedy drivers, soon 10 hours maximum driving time or 60 hours week in London
Greedy drivers are likely to work for more than one company besides Uber anyway, so this limit wouldn't affect them.
Besides, this 10 hour limit is only for when you've got a passenger on board, and it's very unlikely you'll exceed that limit within a 24 hour period.

LUED reacted to Johny in Your age and driving job timeline projection
UberX is doomed indeed, the only one which might survive is the LUX class, the rich will always want a human pet!

LUED got a reaction from george in FAKE GPS uber airports
You won't make much money at airports anyway, better to work in town, and you're at risk at getting a local job after hours waiting.

I agree, but some people have a different plan auuu auuu

LUED got a reaction from mike31 in Uber worker rights, and minim wage
Prefer no rights with flexbility to work when and where you want.
With rights, you're probably expected to work fixed, set shifts, and accept every job, including pool otherwise you'll be in breach of contract/agreement. You'll also be expected to wait in certain areas and you may not be paid to drive to the first pick up of your shift, and going home after last drop off (similar to working in any other job, i.e. office, Tesco, etc., they don't usually pay your commuting time).

LUED reacted to george in TFL spot checks
Be very careful, so many new agents from TFL making our days miserable, DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT taking the risk of PRIVATE JOBS, if you cant prove the job was prebooked. UR licence is gone!

LUED reacted to danthedriver in 2 minutes waiting time
I can see an increase honestly in my income I mean, it adds up, 10 jobs a days and 5 minutes wait, is almost 1h gone for nothing. Now i can get around £5 for that hour if they are late, which is still something. But guess what, customers dont make us wait any more hahaha

LUED reacted to haji in How much profit do you make?
driving for Uberx you get like £15/hour where your real profit is half of that! but your car is included!

It only works with android and it has to be rooted and using different steps!
Makes no sense to risk , and for what? for pool airport job?

LUED reacted to Johny in Uber fake gps
Thousands of drivers, including myself, received warnings in the Uber app about using Fake GPS programs on our phones and tablets. Hundreds, if not thousands of other drivers received other warnings on a wide variety of infractions
Uber has reached a point where they have far more drivers than they need and it seems that the weeding process has begun. With a surplus of drivers, they can afford to weed out the worst ones and keep the best.

LUED got a reaction from sfusion in Uber requests outside london with pco licence
You can do but don't forget the rates are lower out there, it's not too far to head towards Kingston or Wimbledon, etc. and start work from there.

LUED reacted to Johny in Uber tipping is coming from tomorrow
nothing for me, I think is too late maybe, the average customer is not going to tip after getting used to it in all these years of no tipping policy

LUED reacted to Darren Sta in PCO car rental?
Yes, I have used Europcar and Enterprise and PCO Rent.
Europecar was horrible in that, every time I went to their office, they were understaffed and would wait approx 3-4 hours after my appointment time before I could leave with a car.
Their cars had numerous problems and one they gave me was exceptionally dirty and had body work damage all over it.
I needed to work that night so I took it, but I took photos of everything before driving it away.
The car stank and it was horrible, like dried soup had exploded in the car. I returned it the next morning and cancelled the agreement.
They sent me an email trying to charge me for the damage. Thank god I took the photos. The office I dealt with didn't want to know as it was a different department that deals with damage, only when threatened with court action and geo-tagged meta-data in the photos as proof did they drop it without so much as an apology. I saw other people angry with them too in their office. I would never rent from them again.
Enterprise, they don't check or clean their cars over well, twice I had cars with low oil warning lights, car with slow puncture on collection, they promised to reimburse me for some of my loss of earnings. It never happened.
I don't trust these companies any more. PCO rent was one of the best for the Prius so far, but more expensive than the quotes on here. £250 ish.

LUED got a reaction from george in BUsy area Uber LOndon
Definitely, however, mine is a 16 plate, and it's not worth it for me to do X jobs as well, I just stick to Exec only.
Though as I said, I use my second phone, switch the car to X and Exec, so the X map shows up (still offline), and I can see where X is surging, and those areas are more likely to get Exec work.
-
LUED reacted to Johny in BUsy area Uber LOndon
I agree, if you have a car which can be used both for x and exec is by far the best option and most efficient, hoping you don't have a 16 plate E class a 12 plate one will be perfect, the old drivers have this opportunity

LUED got a reaction from george in EXEC work!
Yeah, they're alright, plenty of work, mostly airports and cruise terminals.
They send you job offers by e-mail, you can reject them, or type in how much you want for the job.
If they accept your offer, they'll send you another e-mail confirming if you still want it or not, so typing in how much you want to the job, doesn't bind you to it.
They say they'll get busy over the summer, just looked at my bin folder of my e-mail and today they sent 17 jobs.
People carrier/MPV will probably get the most job offers, as they can do estate and standard car jobs too. Those 17 jobs I go today were only standard car jobs, though I can do Exec jobs as well, they're quite rare.

LUED got a reaction from george in TFL undercover agents everywhere !!! private jobs illegal
Never heard of having to have your driving licence with you for compliance checks.
I never carry mine since it's not a legal requirement to do so.
I've been stopped a few times now, and never been asked for my driving licence.

LUED got a reaction from Johny in BUsy area Uber LOndon
If you got a second phone with the Uber driver app installed, and you can do X work as well, keep it open and look for surge areas on X.
Exec tends to get busy when it surges on X, as the surge price may exceed the cost of an Exec.
-
LUED reacted to Johny in BUsy area Uber LOndon
If you drive for Exec or Lux, you have to drive towards the city, you have to chase the middle class or upper class clients
