I like the idea of chat between customers and driver, many times phones numbers dont work specially for outsiders.

Long trip notifications- its a good idea but if they know the job is long who is going to get it, a drivers with a nice car or a drivers with a old car???

No more £7 jobs for exec in weybridge area

If you are talking about ARP reg plates, it doesnt matter for them :D

  3. “Taxify has done everything in its power to comply with the local regulations, but is faced by aggression from TfL. Taxify successfully launched its London ride-hailing service on Tuesday, with over 3,000 drivers signed up, 7,000 drivers due to be on-boarded and over 30,000 customers downloading the app in the first three days. This incredible response shows the huge demand for greater choice in the monopolised London ride-hailing market.

Over the last 48 hours, questions have been raised regarding the legality of its operations and Taxify would like to make clear that it has made every attempt possible to comply with TfL regulations. To launch its service to London customers, the business purchased a TfL licensed operator, running Taxify as a technology platform directing bookings to City Drive Services registered drivers.

This arrangement is completely compliant within the existing UK law, and is a common practice within the industry. Taxify does not need a license, as any licensed operator can use any technology platform they choose to facilitate bookings between private hire drivers and riders. In this case, City Drive Services was the company authorised by TfL to dispatch bookings and therefore Taxify had no need to get a license for the software separately.

TfL has raised concerns about Taxify’s license directly to its drivers instead of to the platform. Despite multiple attempts at communication with to resolve the issue, TfL has not provided any guidance. In an effort to stay fully compliant, and to protect drivers from further harassment and scrutiny by TfL, Taxify voluntarily paused the use of its app by City Drive Services drivers so that it can seek clarification with the regulator.

TfL has issued a letter stating they are revoking the license held by City Drive Services due to a change in the Company’s Director, who has no involvement with the operation or the business practice. Taxify strongly believe that the reasons for TfL revoking City Drive Services’ license are invalid, without merit, and outside of existing law. The action by TfL is denying London customers a valid choice within the market which has limited options. Taxify is appealing against TfL’s decision immediately.

Taxify are immensely frustrated that TfL have not been willing to co-operate nor meet to discuss its operating licence and entrance into the London market. Taxify is a fully compliant ride-hailing technology provider, already operating in 19 other countries and major European cities, where it is successfully delivering a new competitive ride-hailing platform to the benefit of both customers and drivers. Taxify remain committed to playing a key role in the London ride-hailing market.

As one of Europe’s leading start-ups, Taxify are a force for good in the worldwide ride-hailing market, providing important competition to the current market leader which uses its market position to mistreat drivers and take advantage of customers. London customers and drivers are crying out for competition against what has become an unchallenged monopoly.

TfL’s action to revoke City Drive Services’ license does not benefit the customer and should be challenged by all those that favour a fair and safe ride-hailing market with improved conditions for both drivers and customers. Taxify are keen to find a solution to this issue and strongly urge TfL to meet with the company at the earliest possible opportunity."

    Hi guys

Anyone know how many points I can have on my drive license to still have chance to become Uber Driver ??

    I'm mean code LC20

    ?????

6 is the max indeed and like Darren said, will be very expensive to insure the car as well. I have a friend with 6 points , 15 years driving experience, 41 years old, insurance is £420 a month

Definitely, however, mine is a 16 plate, and it's not worth it for me to do X jobs as well, I just stick to Exec only.

Though as I said, I use my second phone, switch the car to X and Exec, so the X map shows up (still offline), and I can see where X is surging, and those areas are more likely to get Exec work.

Many people do the same, they have the client app (old version) on a different phone and driver, when surge is above 1.7x, they change it quickly B), if you do only  x jobs with a 16 plate you have to be mad, in 1 year the interior will be doomed and at least 30k miles

Yeah, they're alright, plenty of work, mostly airports and cruise terminals.

They send you job offers by e-mail, you can reject them, or type in how much you want for the job.

If they accept your offer, they'll send you another e-mail confirming if you still want it or not, so typing in how much you want to the job, doesn't bind you to it.

They say they'll get busy over the summer, just looked at my bin folder of my e-mail and today they sent 17 jobs.

People carrier/MPV will probably get the most job offers, as they can do estate and standard car jobs too. Those 17 jobs I go today were only standard car jobs, though I can do Exec jobs as well, they're quite rare.

Thank you for sharing these companies Lued and your experience with you. Most of the other drivers keep the info just for them, as like they will make more money :D. Well done

Never heard of having to have your driving licence with you for compliance checks.

I never carry mine since it's not a legal requirement to do so.

I've been stopped a few times now, and never been asked for my driving licence.

I agree, but is better safe than sorry. They will take any chance to make you waist time , some even 2 hours. if youre not sure you can always record them with your phone;)

Certainly designed to keep the competition out.

Those medium sized cab offices, will therefore be restricted to 100 cars, and can only accept so many jobs.

Bearing in mind that even though though got 100 cars, not all of them will be on the road at the same time - various shifts, drivers on holiday, days off, vehicle problems, etc.

So possibly may be about 30 to 40 cars out on the road at any one time?

There might be an upturn in the number of the smallest operator licences being applied for one-man band operations, as these companies will turn to these as sub-contractors to pass on any extra work onto, as the booking can then be transferred directly to them, without having to add those with an operating licence as a driver under their own licence.

UBer also suspended any enrollment until SEPT when is also the deadline for english test proofs :)

I had a girl in the back, popping her tits out and asking me to feel them, woahahahahaha:D , eventually I had to drop her near some black cabs, good thing i had my dashcam ON. Be very careful because next day you might find yourself with a invite to the police station , abuse claims and bla bla bla. Dont fall in this trap!

Regardless of what they do and how attractive might be, politely droop them off and complain before them to your operator...you can get your license revoked in 1 minute, is the default law during the case investigation

I agree, no need for hassle. Always think about consequence

    And lower prices

Take taxify for example they didn't get licensed yet and they're competing with uber prices

How do you know this? they already enroll drivers, how can they do it without the PCO operator license? you have to be too stupid honestly , all this movement and not to have license :D

are they allowed to use the name taxi?

I think they have to change their name first right , 15% commission is good but how they will attract customers I wonder

No , they cant! Is like for the operator to have the words minicab, not just cab.
