george
I discovered today that your Uber device doesn't have to remain locked down in order to function. In fact, you can perform a hard factory reset on the device, then after setting up your Apple account, etc you can simply use the BYOD link from Uber to reinstall the Uber driver app. Works like a charm with no interruption. You still pay the fee, but you no longer have a neutered device.
dukeofuber
The Factory reset is not working for me on Uber phone. It asks for password when i am going to Settings > General > Reset and select "Erase All Content and Settings" How did you do it?
george
Use recovery mode You might need to use recovery mode to restore your device in these cases: iTunes doesn't recognize your device or says it's in recovery mode. You see the Apple logo onscreen for several minutes with no progress bar. You see the Connect to iTunes screen. To put your device into recovery mode, follow these steps: Turn off your device and leave it off. Plug in your device's USB cable to a computer with iTunes. Hold down the Home button on your device as you connect the USB cable. Keep holding down the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen. When you see this screen, release the Home button. If you don't see this screen, try steps 1 through 3 again. When your device is connected, iTunes will open. You'll see a message saying that iTunes has detected an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch in recovery mode. Use iTunes to restore your device. Restoring in recovery mode will erase your device. If you previously synced with iTunes or iCloud, you might be able to restore from your backup.

Once your iPhone is detected, click on the iPhone button. Under the Summary tab, click on the Restore iPhone button. You’ll be prompted to to create a backup of your iPhone. If you want to backup all your data, go ahead. In this guide we’re erasing everything without backing up. Click Restore. iTunes will then begin restoring the phone to its original factory state. After the process is complete, your iPhone will restart and you’ll be presented with the “Slide to set up” welcome screen, just like when you turned on your iPhone for the first time. IF this still doesnt work, i will advise you give it back to uber and get the £150 , Buy a HTC M8 and for £20/motnh i am sure you can find a very good deal for data. uberdriver
Yes, give it back and get the money , with EE you can share your allowance between different devices. If you have one contract with and you want to start the second, you can tell them you want to share the data for the second one so you can pay the minimum. I had 10GB on my first contract and when i went for the second so i can use for Uber i just told them i want to pay the minimum and to share the data from the first one and i am paying £12 for the second one
