I bought a used Iphone5s from Ebay and i use it just for work, i dont have any problem. Keep it in the car all the time, it costed me £116

OMG guys, i will never ever go anywhere near the carnival, what a lost. Car destroyed , traffic, drunk people most of them, some guy kicked my window for no reason...animals , It should be done somewhere remote not in a civilized city

I am looking as well because all the big companies offers are about the same, just like they somehow have a deal between them it has to be a small company who can offer a better deal

Uber is saying if youre near 80k in on year you have to pay the VAT.

But those 80k is the gross fare, so they take 25% from those 80k and then they are saying i have to pay another 20% vat from those 80k or the remaining of 60k?

£80,000 gross fare

£20,000 uber commission 25%

£60,000 remaining before VAT

£16,000 VAT tax

£44,000 after VAT

Now lets cut the costs of working for Uber from the remaining £44,000:

Car rent/lease/finance - from £4000 to £8000 , depending of the car

Fuel - from £5000 to £7000

Insurance - Minimum £2000

Car maintenance - minimum £2000 if you're lucky not to have major work done

TOTAL=minimum £15,000

£44,000 minus the costs of being able to work= £29,000

AND now lets talk talk about the other TAX like NIN and profit TAX which can be another another 20% or a minimum of 10% right?  and again your earning will drop

This is around £2400/month your real income!! but bare in mind how many hours you have to work to make those 80k

What a trap, i feel sorry for those who have to pay VAT, is better to work less and not pay VAT

I am sure you can avoid VAT tax  using different companies but still.....

I agree, less and less, clients are getting smarter as well , they are waiting for surge to end and then boom

KInda hard these days, i made this weekend around £260 for 10 hours work every day. is good, i heard others making something like £400 , your luck and skill is a big factor as well

I just found out that if you rate the customer with 1 star, you, as a driver you will never be matched up with that customer ever again.

So , bare in mind, rate 1 star = one less customer for you.

Give them 2

After you pay your tax, food and house rent or mortgage.

That it, no more money left.

I had a customers with a girl, he was playing smart ass, acting big in front of that girl because he was working for UBER.

I heard him telling her that there are more than 15,000 drivers in LONDON!!!!

IS impossible mate, you have to smile non stop and pretend they are the kings all time. IF you can act like a butler, that it.

I've tried on my iPhone iPad and two other desktop computers, after I put Email and password it came ip a blank page with uber logo on top, is there anyone have the same technical issue log in???

ANd also sometimes, some jobs doesn't appear, i have to stay with stress and check every job on a particularly day!!

UberXL has become popular with the drunk college groups. The majority of my XL trips has been parties that want to cram more than 6 people in my car. They take at least twice as long to enter the car and are annoyingly rowdy. I've also had two trips where the rider totally took advantage of me by using my car as a moving van (with no tip!)

UberX is cheap. UberX is everyone's private driver. Tip is not necessary. Riders are spoiled already!

One day, I arrived and waited for a rider and he said to me, "Don't you know part of your job is waiting?". Thanks. I learnt it, in a unpleasant way. Here is how I deal with arrogant riders.

1 Upon arrival, make sure to press "ARRIVE" button. The 5-minute waiting starts to count.
2 If it's a gated community and rider does not tell you the gate code, just take it easy.
3 Text the rider you arrived and waited in the gate.
4 If they give you the gate code and do not give you the building number, that's fine.
5 Text the rider you entered the gate and waited in the gate.
6 If they give you the building number, drive there to pick up.

Time is ticking. 5 minutes will be over soon. If after 5 minutes, I still do not see them, I simply cancel the request and choose "rider no show" to get my £4 fare. The best part is the rider even cannot rate you for any request cancelled by either driver or rider. Also, this legitimate cancellation will not affect your accept rate.

Riders, you live in an apartment and pay your rent month by month. I live in a paid-off single family house and contribute my property council tax to city . You need to learn consideration and appreciation or you will stay in your small cage for the rest of your life. What makes you being so arrogant or proud of?

UberX is a on-demand service, not a on-command service!

Only begin the trip when rider gets in the car. It's just a £0.15/minute or £9/hour in the waiting charge. Give 5 minutes grace time to rider. After 5 minutes, cancel for "rider no show", get the legitimate cancel fee, and leave. The riders are worthless for us to wait for more than 5 minutes. Cheap riders are liars too. If you press "Begin Trip" and wait for more than 5 minutes, Uber will not pay you cancellation fee. Why? How can you press BEGIN TRIP even riders are not in your car yet. You are violating Uber's policy and Uber will not pay you cancellation fee because of this violation.

The rider's responsibilities are:
1 Give driver a correct and clear pin location or address or business name.
2 Get in car as fast as you can

Believe it or not. Uber  need driver more than driver needs them. Drive smart. Don't drive like a slave. You are your own boss.
