In the last year, Uber has poached more than 40 autonomous vehicle experts from the robotics program at Carnegie Mellon University, as well as top car security researchers. 

This move comes at a time when the likes of Google, Apple, and Tesla are all working on some sort of autonomous-driving projects. Kalanick says he believes Google to be the farthest ahead, but that we're still a while away from seeing any company's self-driving cars on the roads.

For us, we're a tech company, so we've said, let's be part of that. It's a super exciting place to be

How ironic can this be, we are helping uber to get rid of US!

They say by 2020 is going to be a real thing, hopefully i will finish my car finance by that time :)

Autonomous cars will be commonplace by 2025 and have a near monopoly by 2030, and the sweeping change they bring will eclipse every other innovation our society has experienced.

Tesla 3 is just around the corner. For £20k everyone will afford to buy it because at the moment tesla s is around £50k nad they already use autopilot on uk motorways, wait and see

hahahahaha, is already happening mate , i will give it another 5 yeas maybe, around 2020 all major car companies will have at least one model of self driving car
