basescu got a reaction from dukeofuber in Uber customer telling lies to support agaisnt drivers
I had a customer which was very rude to me and I asked him nicely to get off my car because of his attitude which I am not willing to accept.
Guess what?
He said to Uber in my car was smelling like marijuana, I was driving careless, speeding.....so on.
Uber got me de-activated and had to wait to wait for them to listen to my side of the story while me not being able to make money to provide for my family!!!
Uber Client always first and then the driver....
Be careful with strange customers, they can always make a serious allegation against you and by the time Uber will realise its all lies, you will lose days of work-we have no protection in this situations!

basescu got a reaction from josh in Your age and driving job timeline projection
If you are in your 40 years you might still have a chance and you dont need to change the job
IF your in your 50 years, you can relax and not worried- by the time technology will threat your job, you will wait for pension
If you are below 40- dude start thinking by now what you're going to do when you will be 50 years old as your job will be taken by the machines!

This is unbelievable, what a master plan from Uber.
All this licence show was actually a distraction fromt he main point, which is the driverless legal ground .
Now they have it, UBer can bring it on UK roads without a problem.
In 6-7 years almost everything will be gone, they will snap 50% of the market in the first year, special the UBerX market.
Mr Hammond is due to announce regulation changes in Wednesday's Budget which will allow developers to apply to test driverless vehicles on UK roads.
Asked about the potential loss of jobs for drivers, he said the country could not "hide from change" and the government had to equip people with the skills "to take up new careers".

basescu got a reaction from Johny in Uber surge price but no jobs
How is it possible to be in the middle of the surge area and no jobs or jobs with no surge
Or you get a job on surge and by the time you get there is cancelled because the surge is gone, time waisted and frustration generated

basescu reacted to imperator in TFL and uber ban
They pay £500 for new drivers and people still think it will be banned
just 2 facts:
1-London – June 11, 2015 – TfL Pension Fund ('The Fund') has appointed BlackRock to manage liability-driven investing (LDI) and passive equity portfolios totaling £3.8bn assets.
2-By rum coincidence, Blackrock invested a reported £124 million in Uber in 2014, giving it a stake which is now worth nearly £500 million

basescu reacted to LUED in Uber 12 hours shift on different categories
Maybe. Earnings are irrelevant though, it's the amount of profit you make, which mattters.
Going by your figures, I'd reckon it would cost more than £40 extra a day to run a brand new £70,000 LWB Lux car, compared to a 8 year old Prius (I know these are the extreme ends of the scale, but it's perfectly possible).
Therefore, an experienced X driver who knows where the work and knows their way around London, will earn more in their 8 year old Prius (who paid cash outright for their car), than the new Lux driver, who has just entered the trade, financed to the hilt, with £1k monthly leasing payments.
Turnover is vanity, profit is sanity.
