george got a reaction from LUED in No more greedy drivers, soon 10 hours maximum driving time or 60 hours week in London
I agree, but still I approve this decision, maybe we will get rid of all those guys driving with 10mph because they are too tired

I know people driving 15 hours everyday, that a hazard. I also know guys who drive just for 6 hours a day.
But how many times you see a Prius in front of you which doesn't know what to do or is driving like 15 miles/hour, very ff... annoying
I salute this decision and hope will be everywhere in UK

Greedy drivers are likely to work for more than one company besides Uber anyway, so this limit wouldn't affect them.
Besides, this 10 hour limit is only for when you've got a passenger on board, and it's very unlikely you'll exceed that limit within a 24 hour period.

george got a reaction from prouber in Driverless cars on UK roads by 2021
A fully automated fleet could save the company around £900m a year, with a potential profit of more than £1bn!
Super chargers implementation is the first step towards full auto AI cars!

Uber ordered 24,000 Volvo XC90 to form a fleet of driverless vehicles between 2019-2021.
You have 3 years to get rid of your finance or find a different job, machines will take over , trust me. IS not just Uber, all the big players doing the same thing.
24,000 drivers will be replaced until 2021 by machines fact

george reacted to basescu in Your age and driving job timeline projection
If you are in your 40 years you might still have a chance and you dont need to change the job
IF your in your 50 years, you can relax and not worried- by the time technology will threat your job, you will wait for pension
If you are below 40- dude start thinking by now what you're going to do when you will be 50 years old as your job will be taken by the machines!

10 more years before this job will start to be disrupted and 20 years until full automation and no jobs in this industry.

george reacted to basescu in FAKE GPS uber airports
They think is something worth doing it, not having confidence to do it properly. Disable the gps to trick the system, for what? U might get a £15 job
-
george reacted to LUED in FAKE GPS uber airports
You won't make much money at airports anyway, better to work in town, and you're at risk at getting a local job after hours waiting.

george reacted to josh in Uber clean air plan, what a scam
I went there to hear about the £5000 grant when guess what ,there is no grant atm just "special offers" for drivers to rent electric cars from Weflex or pcorentals. They say Uber is working to increase the number of fast charging points for drivers to make them switch for electric cars, or is it for the future driverless fleet?

george got a reaction from LUED in TFL spot checks
Be very careful, so many new agents from TFL making our days miserable, DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT taking the risk of PRIVATE JOBS, if you cant prove the job was prebooked. UR licence is gone!

george reacted to flyinguber in Driverless cars on UK roads by 2021
This is unbelievable, what a master plan from Uber.
All this licence show was actually a distraction fromt he main point, which is the driverless legal ground .
Now they have it, UBer can bring it on UK roads without a problem.
In 6-7 years almost everything will be gone, they will snap 50% of the market in the first year, special the UBerX market.
Mr Hammond is due to announce regulation changes in Wednesday's Budget which will allow developers to apply to test driverless vehicles on UK roads.
Asked about the potential loss of jobs for drivers, he said the country could not "hide from change" and the government had to equip people with the skills "to take up new careers".

george got a reaction from hdriver in Uber jobs alocation algorithm
How do you think Uber calculates which driver receives the job???
Maybe a queue of all drivers within 5 minutes reach to the customer, based on driver’s waiting time, distance and rating or car age?
I think is just rating and car age!!!

george reacted to Johny in Uber loses its licence to operate in London
Softbank is apparently ready to spend $10 billion on the deal, but the auction process it's after may value Uber at around $50 billion. Uber's current valuation is about $68 billion, so—although some investors may be keen to cash out after a tumultuous year—the company would have some convincing to do.
Valuation just dropped because of that, Softbank is winning already

george got a reaction from Oledriver in Tfl pco operator licence fee
Of course can afford to pay those £3mil, is nothing for them compared with the net gross from London market, but those small other companies which represent maybe 30% from the market will slowly slowly disappear,
If a local company cab company cant afford to pay the new rates and close down, where do you think their customers will move to??? Uber
Uber pays £3mil but gains much more on the long term, good deal ! Well done for them

george got a reaction from Johny in Taxify response to TFL ban
BULLSHIIT!!!! what an assholes, spreading the shit they made on everyone "This arrangement is completely compliant within the existing UK law, and is a common practice within the industry"
NO is NOT a fukin common practice u twat

george reacted to josh in Uber new improvments
I like the idea of chat between customers and driver, many times phones numbers dont work specially for outsiders.
Long trip notifications- its a good idea but if they know the job is long who is going to get it, a drivers with a nice car or a drivers with a old car???
No more £7 jobs for exec in weybridge area
